Alice Walker is a literary treasure - this latest collection of politically and socially activated poetry is brilliant. I loved the bilingual presentation of this work - fully translated to Spanish by Manuel Garcia Verdecia.Here it isthe beauty that scares you---so you believe---to death.
If life on the planet endures, I am convinced these poems of Alice Walker will be regarded as historical and prophetic. Each poem is beautifully and painfully created. The fact that each poem is in both English and Spanish, side by side, makes the whole book a symbolic poem in itself. I am sad that I do not know how to read the Spanish.
