DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS BOOK. It is barely 100 pages, written in enormous font. Almost all of the book is a cursory review (riddled with typos and even some incorrect information) of the most basic problems you could possibly see on the GRE. If you really need a review on what a fraction or a rectangle is, then sure - this might be the book for you. However, if you legitimately want to learn how to approach any more difficult problems (such as the probability questions) then do not bother here. I got through this entire "Test Prep" book in one sitting. It is definitely not a prep book: in total it has just 50 verbal questions and 20 math questions, which is nowhere near the number of practice problems you should be doing to prepare for an exam like the GRE. Do not bother with this guide! It is a waste of money! Pay the extra $20 and get the Super Power Pack from ETS - they are the people who actually make the test!
07/30/18: ADDENDUM:After originally glancing through, I thought this book would be a great tool for studying for the GRE. It seemed straightforward with explanations and gave clear examples. When I went through the book more in depth, I found numerous ERRORS in the lessons (ex. see the explanation of percentages <--> decimals on page 50). It is very discouraging that prospective students utilize this book with trust that it is teaching the right material when, in reality, it is not. I emailed the company yesterday (haven't heard back yet but it hasn't even been 24 hours).I am giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because I did find some material helpful. If you buy this book be very CAUTIOUS. I will use this book as a supplement to the 2018 Kaplan book but not rely on it solely to help me with GRE.07/19/18: Very easy to follow and very informative.
It is hard to trust in a product that has grammatical errors on page 13 of the book. Not sure if I want to invest my time any further. It is for graduate school test prep but is not graduate level quality. Very disappointed!!!
I love this study guide! It explains concepts, test format, and tips very simply and effectively. The practice questions are thorough, testing every concept and idea in the best manner that can be practiced. I enjoy using this preparation material!
I am highly satisfied with this study guide. The practice tests are probably the most helpful part of the book because they create a simulation of what the actual exam will be like. By using the test taking tips at the beginning of the book when attempting these practice tests, I have performed quite well. I also think the length of the book is ideal as it appears less intimidating than other over-sized test prep books, while being just as if not more useful for exam preparation.
I guess it’s on me for falling for the sponsored ranking instead of reading reviews. Now that I have I realize this book is awful! It’s super short and overly complicated yet the practice questions are so easy. If this was the only book you used for prep you would be screwed!!Fortunately I’d worked through the Princeton Review GRE prep and knew better than to be lulled into a false sense of security!! When taking the quant practice exams with the Princeton book i’d often miss 6-8 questions but on this practice quant exam I scored 100% HA!!In spite of the easy questions, the actual study material is inscrutable! So confusing and complicated on the higher level stuff; not at all written for people who are picking this back up after 20 years. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
This book was cheap but it really was a waste of time. I only got it for the verbal reasoning section. They had some helpful tips but not enough problems to practice on. Just buy a book worth a practice exam. Sony waste your time with this book. I flew through the verbal reasoning in a day
As others have said, this book is only 100 pages of very Basic review. Only a handful of practice questions. Plus if you bought the ebook version, the formatting is terrible. I've found better prep resources for free online.
