It is s practical book. The book covers everything you need. It is easy to understand. The format is very good and attracts attention of the reader. I can recommend this book to anyone who is interested in photography.
I liked the book so much that I recommended it to the vocational school I work at. We decided to make this book our text book for the graphic arts class and ordered enough books for every student.

My local bookstore had this book as well as "The Beginner's Photography Guide" by Chris Gatcum. Both books were published by DK.I have no idea why DK published this book. Both of the books are the same size and have about the same number of pages. Comparing their table of contents, and then flipping through them, they both cover mostly the same topics. This "Advanced" book isn't even advanced - it covers the basics of all the topics, just like the "Beginner's" book. It even tells you the pros/cons of smartphone cameras - why is that in an "advanced" book?If you were to just look at the titles, you might think a beginner would be best with starting out with the "Beginner's" book, and then moving on to the "Advanced" book. No, a beginner could get either book to learn the basics, and then it'd be pointless to read the other book. Neither book is advanced.
