I am nowhere near following this to the letter, but just changing a few minor things (like sticking to the eating schedule they recommend) have helped me lose a few pounds and totally cured my digestive issues. Maybe I will try the exercises one day, but I'm not going to eat rice and mung beans.I would give this 20 stars for curing my indigestion so quickly and completely. I thought I was just getting old, but it turned out I was not eating on my body's schedule.

I've recently become interested in Ayurveda, and this book is among the most accessible of those I've read. I love that it simplifies the dietary guidelines by season but still has information on other Ayurvedic practices. I've been slowly adopting some of practices from this book and have seen great results in only 6 weeks. For those interested in Ayurveda or making changes to their daily routines that foster greater health and well-being, this is a good starting point.

The only book on eating you will ever need... notice I did not say diet, this book teaches you how to eat and enjoy every bite, even sweets while still being able to drop pounds.

There is much truth in Ayurvedic thinking. When you really think about it, of course we will be healthiest if we eat according to nature. Real food provided by nature that our bodies recognize...and according to when it is harvested. Dr. Douillard's concepts are time tested ideas, put into a modern concept. A good read that is simple to understand for anyone.

This is a great book that is easy to read. John does an excellent job translating the ancient practice of ayurveda into western language. Following these recommendations can have a powerful affect on your health.

This is perhaps the most helpful and comprehensive book I have ever run across on nutrition and weight management. Two of the most outstanding features are the excellent explanation of the 24 hour Circadian Cyle and the seasonal grocery shopping lists. I read it from cover to cover.

I read this book a year ago after it was recommended at the yoga studio that I attend. It has some fabulous content. It's well explained but most of all, it works. I've been eating along these guidelines for the past year and I lost 10 lbs and have kept it off. Eating 3 meals a day and sipping hot water really does stabilize blood sugar. I was so suprised. It makes me feel great, have more energy and less anxiety. John Douillard has a lot of other content on his website too. He's constantly updating it with new stuff, YouTube videos and sending out e-newsletters. A lot of the ayurvedic nutrition tips he provides in this book and continues to provide online have helped me tremendously. I highly recommend it.

This is how I make my grocery list week to week. Ayurveda has saved my body and helped guide me into food choices that work best for my husband and I.
