I bought this book as a teacher trying to find field trips for my students. However, if you live in Louisiana and wish to make unusual weekend get-a-ways, this is also the book for you. Keith Odom describes the places you can visit very well. Please realize Keith has a master's in English I think; so it is well written. Keith includes directions as well. The places to visit are quirky and unusual. I love the unusual and love to go on little adventures. Keith's book gave me many unusual places to go and for that I am grateful. It's all just much fun.
There are some truly oddball items in this book that may be of interest to some people, but for tourists that have never or seldom been to Louisiana they should look to other books.
